Microneedling (PRP)

The skin can be damaged due to a wide variety of factors. Aging, prolonged sun exposure, acne, lifestyle – all of these can have an impact on how one’s skin appears. Dull and unhealthy skin can make you look as if you are ill. Acne scars are difficult to get rid of, and anyone who has acne can tell you the struggles they face while dealing with these scars.

While topical creams claim to fix all your skin problems, they are often much less effective than one would hope. You may need to come in for a microneedling procedure to help your skin look as vibrant as it used to.

The Microneedling Procedure

A minimally invasive procedure, microneedling brings with it a lot of benefits that work to address most skin conditions and leave you looking younger, fresher, and with smoother skin.

The theory behind this procedure is simple. The human body is designed to respond to small wounds, which it automatically begins to heal as soon as it perceives them. When the topmost layer of the skin is pricked with small needles during the treatment, the body is forced to respond and heal the tiny wounds.

In this manner, the production of collagen and elastin is increased, making the healed skin look younger and more vibrant. Because of this, microneedling is also known as collagen induction therapy.

smooth skin

It is capable of removing most skin problems you may find yourself having to deal with. These include acne scars, skin damage from exposure to sunlight, fine lines, discoloration of the skin, and wrinkles.

The downtime after this procedure is minimal, and you will be able to resume your normal activities starting the following day. Using PRP in conjunction with microneedling greatly increases the benefits of this treatment.

Why Combine PRP with Microneedling?

PRP, or Platelet-Rich Plasma, makes use of your blood cells to restore the condition of your skin. Combining Microneedling with PRP greatly increases the benefits obtained from the procedure.

The doctor will first obtain the blood sample from your arms, and then the blood will be turned into a solution. Plasma contains high concentrations of both platelets and stem cells, which promote the healing of tissues as well as the growth of new cells. When this solution penetrates the skin, it greatly increases the benefits of microneedling.

The solution will be placed on your skin both before and after the microneedling process to ensure that it reaches the deeper layers of the skin and works to rejuvenate and heal. By reaching deeper, the PRP promotes cell growth while the body works to naturally heal the puncture wounds caused by microneedling. The end result is soft, smooth, and rejuvenated skin.
