Helping Patients in Scottsdale and Greater Phoenix, Arizona

Vbeam Laser

A large fraction of the population experiences varicose veins. These huge, bulging veins right below the skin can be embarrassing and frustrating. Other patients may experience swelling and redness on various areas of the body due to broken or swollen capillaries. This can affect the appearance of the person and can be very unsettling. Others still develop a condition called rosacea, in which tiny blood vessels on the face get swollen and give rise to small red bumps and acne on the face.

People suffering from these issues can address them with the help of the Vbeam laser. This cosmetic procedure reduces the superficial effects of broken or swollen blood vessels.

Take the First Step

If you regularly struggle with the appearance of vascular issues like varicose veins and rosacea, the Vbeam laser treatment may be the right option for you. The first step to clearer skin is a consultation at Spectrum Dermatology.

At your consultation, your skin will be evaluated for suitability for this procedure. You will be able to describe your aesthetic needs and goals, and your doctor will answer any questions you may have regarding the treatment. Contact our office for your consultation.

The Vbeam Laser

Vbeam is excellent for treating superficial vascular issues. In addition, Vbeam can be used to treat pigmentation, scars, warts, and even stretch marks.

Vbeam is a pulsed-dye laser, a type of laser that delivers different colors of laser beams in pulses by making use of a dye. The color of the laser beam varies according to the targeted area and whether the laser beam is being used to treat blotches, spots, or scars.

Blood vessels specifically absorb yellow light. This results in these blood vessels collapsing and subsequently being eliminated from the body through processes associated with natural healing.

clearer skin

Vbeam works best on medium fair and fair skin, since the melanin pigments in dark skin block the penetration of the laser beam.

During the procedure, most patients experience a temporary tingling sensation. There are little or no side effects associated with the procedure, making it a relatively safe alternative to chemical peeling and other treatments. The procedure lasts between 15 minutes and two hours, depending on the extent of the area being treated.

Vbeam gives a smooth and blemish-free appearance to the skin, thus restoring its youthfulness and health.

After the Procedure

Typically, patients who have been treated with the Vbeam laser experience temporary redness, swelling, or bruising around the treated areas. This will subside within in a short while. You may be prescribed ointments by your doctor in order to speed up healing and recovery. These are to be taken as prescribed by your doctor.

Vbeam is one of the safest and most effective ways of treating vascular lesions. There is no downtime required after the procedure, so you can resume your daily activities almost immediately. You may observe slight discoloration in the treated areas. This will disappear within a week or so.

A series of Vbeam laser treatment sessions may be required for long-lasting results. The frequency of the treatments depends upon your skin type and the area that is being treated.
