The Brow Lift Procedure
To begin the brow lift procedure, the patient will be given local anesthesia with IV sedation or general anesthesia. When they have been made comfortable, our surgeons will create one or more incisions in key regions of the brow. The exact technique used for each case will determine the location and pattern of these incisions.
After the incisions have been made, our surgeons will have access to the underlying tissues. To smooth out the area, the muscles in the region will be altered as needed and the skin will be tightened. At the end of the procedure, the incisions will be closed using stitches and dressed appropriately.
The Healing Process
Although you will look quite presentable right after the surgery, note that the healing will take some time. The patient will experience bruising and swelling after surgery. As the swelling comes down, the lines of incision fade, and in a few months, the area will completely heal.
It is important that you follow our surgeons' recovery instructions so that the surgery is a success and the results are to your liking. Be careful with the incisions and do not put pressure on them. You will need to take some time off of work as you heal. It is best to protect the region from sun exposure for a time, as the tissues will still be weak and prone to damage.
